CAIRO, The UAE participated in The 22nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communication & Information.

The meeting was held today at the General Secretariat of the Arab League and was attended by Arab ministers of telecommunications and information and the delegations of heads of Arab countries.

The UAE's delegation was led by Majid Sultan Al Mismar, Acting Director-General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, TRA, and included Yousef Mohammed Al Khaja, Representative of Emirates Post, and TRA representatives Ghaith bin Mazina, Omar Al Nimr and Jassem Bouasseebah.

In his statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, Al Mismar highlighted the importance of the council's current meeting, as it discussed a range of key issues submitted by relevant committees, including post and telecommunications committees.

The meeting also discussed other topics, such as supporting the rights of Palestine related to the post and telecommunications sectors, and linking Arab countries to the internet, he added.

Al Mismar expressed his happiness at the UAE's nomination for membership to the council's new executive office, which reflects the confidence of the council and Arab countries in the UAE.
