CAIRO, 9th April, 2017 (WAM) -- The UAE has participated in the 61st session of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Executive Bureau, which took place today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, in preparation for the 40th Session of the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports Council to be held in Cairo tomorrow.
The country's delegation, headed by Ibrahim Abdul Malik, General Secretary of the General Authority of Youth & Sports Welfare, included Abdul Mohsen Al Dosari, Assistant Secretary-General at the authority, as well as Nasser Al Zaabi, Hassan Ahmed Al Ramsi, and Abdullah Mahyooh, members of the authority.
The meeting was headed by Khaled Abdulaziz, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, with the participation of ministers of youth and sports representing the UAE, Jordan, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, and Morocco.
The Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Social Affairs Ambassador Bader Al-Deen Al-Alali in the Arab League, also attended the meeting.
Ibrahim Abdul Malik stated that many important topics were discussed during the meeting, including the report of the Youth Sports and Technical Committees that assist the council, as well as the reports of the Technical Committee of the Executive Office.
In statements to a reporter from the Emirates News Agency, WAM, in Cairo, Abdul Malik added that the Board of Directors of the Arab Fund for Youth and Sports Activities held its 37th Session on a ministerial level that discussed the fund's situation, especially regarding youth and sports activities that it supports, and the position of Arab countries in paying their contributions.
He added that the fund's final account and final project for its 2017 budget had been adopted.
