CAIRO, The third meeting of the 3rd session of the 2nd Legislative Chapter of the Arab Parliament began today at the headquarters of the Arab League General Secretariat, with the participation of a delegation from the UAE Parliamentary Division of the Federal National Council, FNC.
The meeting included a discussion on the reports presented by the league's standing and temporary committees, which addressed the conditions in several Arab countries, the Palestinian cause, and the role of the Arab Parliament in cooperating with international parliaments to support various Arab causes.
The UAE delegation included FNC members Jassim Abdullah Al Naqbi, Member of the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Committee; Khalid bin Zayed, Member of the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs; Aisha Salem bin Samnoh, Chairwoman of the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee, and Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, Member of the Foreign Affairs and Political Affairs and National Security Committee.
Al Naqbi noted that the meeting discussed many key issues that were presented by the parliament's four standing committees and their sub-committees, most notably the report of the Palestine Committee that addressed the violations of Israeli force against the Palestinian people and Israel's racist discrimination while renewing the parliament's rejection of the decision to recognise Jerusalem as a capital of Israel, and stressing that it will remain the permanent capital of Palestine.
Khalid bin Zayed said that the Arab Parliament discussed the permanent support of Arab Parliament institutions for the Palestinian cause while affirming the importance for Arab and international parliaments to work together and reach an appropriate solution regarding issues related to Arab countries, such as the Palestinian cause.
