MANAMA, 6th December, 2016 (WAM)–The sessions of the UAE pavilion at the exhibition being held on the sidelines of the 37th GCC Summit, continues to attract representatives of local and foreign media as well as writers and researchers The exhibition is organised by the Ministry of Information Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation with representatives of external media.

Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director of External Media Department at National Media Council (NMC), said in a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM) on Tuesday, that the exhibition “represents a platform for the GCC citizens to meet and learn about the urban achievements and projects as well as cultural, social, and traditional features that highlight the characteristics of the Arab Gulf states.”

The UAE pavilion showcases photos, books and films that illustrate the process of the media and its history in the state, along with many books and CDs in English and Arabic, he said, referring to the importance of participating at the international media exhibitions.

Al Shamsi thanked the Ministry of Information Affairs for the excellent organisation of all the events on the sidelines of the summit. He hoped for the summit would achieve its intended purpose to serve the interests of the peoples in the region.

Salem Al Nuaimi, Director of Media Coverage at WAM, said that the participation of the UAE at the exhibition comes within the framework of its keenness to attend various forums.

He added that the UAE pavilion, overseen by NMC, exhibits many pictures, books and films that illustrate the process of the media, its history and the achievements.
