Vice President of Yemen says work underway with coalition states to restore normalcy in liberated areas

RIYADH, 19th October, 2015 (WAM) -- Vice President and Prime Minister of Yemen, Khaled Mahfouz Bahah, has said his government is committed to stop the killings and damage to property to end the war and flagrant violations being practised by the Houthi and Saleh groups against the people of Yemen.

While meeting with the US Ambassador to Yemen, Matthew H. Tueller, today at his residence in Riyadh, Bahah said the government is prepared to restore stability to Yemen and end the suffering of the people of Yemen in some areas and governorates.

He noted that the government and local authorities are on the ground in all the liberated areas, adding that work is underway in the field of relief, security and rebuilding, as well as restoration of normalcy in all the liberated areas in cooperation with the coalition states, notably, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

For his part, the US envoy stressed the interest his country has in restoring security and stability to all the Yemeni cities, reiterating Washington's support to the legitimate government. He underlined that the US condemns the practices of the coup leaders against the people of Yemen.
