Abu Dhabi Airports inks agreement with Federal Authority for Identity Citizenship and Customs to enhance service quality

ABU DHABI, Abu Dhabi Airports, the operator and manager of the emirate’s five airports, has signed an agreement with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), to boost service quality and enhance the passenger experience.

The agreement stems from Abu Dhabi Airports and ICP’s keenness to adopt best practices in areas of security, safety and air transport. This partnership aims to achieve the highest levels of service excellence at all terminals and facilities of Abu Dhabi Airports.

The service agreement was signed by Major General Saeed Salem Balhas Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, and Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, in the presence of Brigadier General Mohamed Ahmed bin Abbad Al Hameli, Director of Air and Sea Ports Department.

Commenting on the agreement, Major General Saeed Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, stated that this agreement is a testament to a long-standing journey of joint efforts and collaboration with Abu Dhabi Airports and various entities related to the authority’s services provided through the Department of Air and Sea Ports.

He highlighted the fact that the authority is leading the mission of enhancing travel procedures of passport checking and passenger transit procedures in alignment with the highest service quality standards, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies and systems to verify travel documents and entry permits for departures and arrivals, especially through smart gates and electronic service stations.

He added that the signing of this agreement reflects mutual interest to advance work mechanisms, highlight potential collaboration areas and reinforce commitment by a unified vision that instils a culture of service excellence.

7th edition of ISNR Abu Dhabi to see high-level talks sessions

ABU DHABI, The Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior will organise more than 23 high-level talk sessions during the seventh edition of the International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi), from 10th to 12th October 2022 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The sessions will focus on three main areas; the future of police, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The event will attract a prominent group of decision-makers, experts and specialists in the fields of national security and law enforcement from different countries of the world.

It will drive conversations on a number of important issues and various topics, such as security borders, cyber security, and combating unmanned aircraft systems, intelligence sharing, infrastructure protection identity technology, cooperation between stakeholders, and more.

The upcoming edition of ISNR will also focus on growing the international participation of major companies, decision-makers, and experts from around the world to bolster the strategic event’s position on a global scale.

Major General Ahmad Naser al Raisi, MoI General Inspector, Chairman of the Higher Committee organising the international national security and risk mitigation exhibition, emphasised that an excellent edition of this international event will be organised to enhance wellbeing in the UAE community and particularly in terms of security, protection and prevention.

He underlined that work is undertaken in cooperation with all the exhibition partners and relevant institutions to make sure an exceptional edition of the event is offered that would enhance achievements in the use of security and police technology, to harness the UAE excellent image as the organiser of international events and meetings.

In addition, sessions at ISNR Talks, taking place on all three-event days, will cover diverse topics ranging from border security, cybersecurity, counter UAS, intelligence sharing, infrastructure protection and resilience, identity technology, agency collaboration and much more.

Mohamed bin Zayed congratulates President of Burundi on assuming the presidency of the East African Community

ABU DHABI, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, sent a written letter to General Évariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi, congratulating him on the occasion of assuming the presidency of the East African Community. The letter was delivered by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, during his meeting with the President in the presence of Abdalla AlShamsi, UAE Non-Resident Ambassador to Burundi.

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan conveyed the greetings of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, as well as their wishes for President Ndayishimiye to enjoy further success during his presidency and for the people of Burundi to experience additional prosperity and growth.

For his part, President Ndayishimiye conveyed his greetings and best wishes to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, for the people of the UAE to achieve further growth and prosperity.

President Ndayishimiye also stressed the continuous growth and development of relations between the UAE and the Republic of Burundi, praising the leading position of the UAE regionally and internationally.

For his part, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan affirmed the UAE’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Burundi, underscoring that there are many opportunities to strengthen ties for the benefit of both countries.

During the meeting, both sides also discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in various fields of common interest.

NCEMA and NCM announce end of weather condition witnessed by the UAE recently

ABU DHABI, The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) announced the end of the weather condition, thanks to their joint continuous monitoring and follow-up of all developments and weather fluctuations in separate areas of the country, in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Interior, local police directorates, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Defense.

The NCM said that there is still a chance that some local convective clouds will form over some eastern and southern regions, with a chance of rain in the coming days.

As for updates regarding the weather condition, the NCEMA confirmed that all concerned authorities had dealt with the weather condition proactively and with high flexibility, adding that it is still in full readiness in the areas that may be affected during the coming period, in order to respond to all developments that may arise and to assess its severity and study its potential risks.

The Ministry of Interior, in cooperation and coordination with local police directorates, has developed proactive plans and measures to ensure the safety of society, preserve lives and property, and limit the repercussions of the weather.

The joint evaluation team also commended the public’s commitment during the last period, praising the community’s role, awareness and confidence in the state’s readiness to respond to all expected challenges by following all precautionary and preventive measures and monitoring developments from official sources in the country.
