His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s state visit to Jordan reflects the strong, deep-rooted bonds the two nations share, Jordan’s Ambassador to Kuwait Sinan Al-Majali said on Monday. In a statement to KUNA, Al-Majali added His Highness Amir’s visit to Jordan on Tuesday marks his first state visit outside the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), indicating Jordan’s significance to Kuwait.

The well-established Kuwaiti-Jordanian bond in economic, political, and social aspects demonstrates the strong bilateral relations the two nations share.

They also share most regional and global issues, especially the Palestinian cause, prioritizing it politically, noted Al-Majali.

Al-Majali affirmed King of Jordan Abdullah II’s cooperation and coordination of the state visit, where His Highness the Amir and King Abdullah II will discuss issues concerning the two nations’ security, stability, and regional prosperity. In regards to trade and the two nations’ economies, Al-Majali affirmed that these to
pics will be given great attention as Kuwaiti investments are considered the largest in Jordan, stressing the opportunity for further investments. The Jordanian community in Kuwait is honored to have a role in the prosperous future of the country, and is met with respect by the Kuwaiti people, noted Al-Majali. Al-Majali said that Jordan is considered a recreational and medical tourist destination for many Kuwaiti citizens who opt to visit Jordon for its natural resources.

Jordan is also a preferred education destination for Kuwaiti citizens who choose to study at esteemed Jordanian universities.

Al-Sudani and Erdogan sponsor the signing of quadripartite MoU between Iraq, Turkey, Qatar and the Emirates to cooperate in the Development Road Project


Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Baghdad today, sponsored the signing ceremony of a quadripartite memorandum of understanding between Iraq, Turkey, Qatar and the Emirates, aiming at joint cooperation on the strategic (development road project), in the presence of members of the two Turkish and the Iraqi delegations, including ministers and advisors.

The Prime Minister’s media office stated: ‘The memorandum was signed on the Iraqi side by the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas, and on the Turkish side by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Oraloglu. The Qatari side was signed by the Minister of Transportation, Jassim bin Saif Al-Sulaiti, and the Emirati side was signed by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei.

The memorandum of understanding includes the signatory countries developing the necessary frameworks for implementing the project.

It is noteworthy that the Strategic Development Road Projec
t will contribute to stimulating economic growth and strengthening regional and international cooperation relations by achieving economic integration and striving towards a sustainable economy between East and West. It will also work to increase international trade, facilitate movement and commerce, provide a new competitive transport route, and enhance regional economic prosperity .

Oman’s Sultan arrives in UAE on state visit


Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq arrived in the UAE on a state visit, said the Emirates news agency.

The visit will last for two days, where Sultan Haitham will meet UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.

The Oman News Agency said the day before yesterday, Saturday, that the visit is of great importance in pushing bilateral relations to greater progress and prosperity for the Omani and Emirati peoples in all fields and achieving common and mutual interests between them.

Britain affirms support for security of Jordan, Mideast


British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed Monday his country’s support to the security of Jordan and the Middle East.

This came during a phone call with the King of Jordan Abdullah II, in which both sides discussed latest develompments in the region.

Sunak affirmed during the call that the UK is keen to find a solution to the “conflict in Gaza Strip,” and will continue its effort to reach an immediate humanitarian truce to bring in larger amounts of aid, return hostages to their families safely, and to achieve a sustainable and long-term ceasefire, his office said in a statement During the call, both leaders stressed the importance of supporting a “reformed Palestinian Authority” in order to achieve stability and prosperity throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, the statement added.

Al-Sudani: Our policy depends on balance and we have principles based on common interests and good neighbourliness


Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani confirmed that Iraq’s policy depends on balance and we have principles based on common interests and good neighbourliness.

Al-Sudani said after receiving Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: We signed various agreements with the Turkish side.

He added: At the water level, we have signed agreements that will modernize irrigation systems. It will last 10 years and its impact will be clearly felt, especially with regard to Iraq’s water share.

He explained that a four-way memorandum of understanding was signed today that includes the principles of the development path, indicating that the development path will move the region economically.

Al- Sudani said that the path of development will not only shorten distances, but will turn into a bridge linking the peoples and cultures of the region and will support security and stability in the region.

He added that bilateral security between the two countries was discussed, and the security of Turkey and Iraq is one indivisi
ble unit.

He continued: We start from the Iraqi constitution and adhere to not allowing any force to use Iraqi land as a launching pad for attacking the neighborhood

Al-Sudani stressed that Jerusalem is an Islamic symbol and insulting Palestinian sanctities is unacceptable

For his part, the Turkish President stressed that Iraq is a neighboring country and we have many commonalities with it.

He said: We have a political will to push Iraq-Turkey relations forward

He added that the memorandums that were signed represent a turning point in our relations with Iraq.

He continued: We will provide the necessary coordination to ensure the full implementation of the agreements signed with Iraq.

Erdogan explained that he discussed with the Prime Minister cooperation in the security and counter-terrorism files.

He said we are ready to provide support to the Iraqi government in combating terrorism.

The Turkish President indicated that the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey has risen to 20 billion do
llars.

He added, “We are determined to participate in the development path to achieve commercial development.”

He said: We established a Turkish-Iraqi committee to solve the water problem on a scientific and rational basis

He explained that he discussed with Al-Sudani the effects of Zionist oppression in Gaza and that we consulted on joint steps to calm the situation

He said: We support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital

He added: We discussed establishing a permanent committee to follow up on the water file with Iraq.

The Turkish President said that he would visit Erbil after Baghdad to discuss joint relations, thanking Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani for his hospitality
