Mnifi participates in a meeting in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.


Today, Sunday, in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnifi, participated in a meeting organized by the government of the Republic of Kenya in cooperation with the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) and the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Council’s media office stated that the invitation came from the President of the Republic of Kenya, William Samoi Ruto, and came on the sidelines of the 37th session of the African Union Council.

Libya congratulates Mauritania on assuming the AU presidency.


Libya extended its congratulations to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on assuming the presidency of the African Union as a representative of the Nordic region for the year 2024.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed its wishes to Mauritania for success during its assumption of this position, in a way that strengthens the bonds of cooperation and common interest within the frameworks and structures of the African Union.

Mauritanian President elected as the new President of the AU.


Heads of State and Government of the African Union had elected the Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani as the new President of the African Union for the year 2024.

The President of the Union of the Comoros, Ghazali Othmani, handed over his presidency to Ghazouani at the opening of the thirty-seventh summit of the African Union in Addis Ababa yesterday, Saturday, according to the Ethiopian News Agency “ENA”. The new President of the African Union promised to carry out his continental responsibilities with passion.

It is noteworthy that the President of the African Union is an honorary president elected by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government for a period of one year and which takes place periodically among the five regions of the continent.

Aboul Gheit: need to hold elections in Libya.


Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Abu al-Gheit, stressed the necessity of removing all obstacles to holding elections in Libya.

In press statements, Abu al-Gheit called on all Libyan parties to resort to a political solution to end the political division that the country is going through.

MARONITE PATRIARCH: HEROISM LIES IN AVOIDING WAR, NOT IN WAGING ITAl-Mnifi discusses with the President of Brazil the strengthening of bilateral relations.

The Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, presided over Sunday Mass in Bkerké.

During this Mass, Caritas Lebanon launched its annual campaign under the slogan “From Your Hand to the Door of Heaven.”

In his sermon, al-Rahi emphasized that true heroism lies in avoiding war, not in waging it.

He stressed that the current state of division and mistrust, which hinders the functioning of the state, cannot continue.

Al-Rahi said, “Let everyone put above all else the goal of building national unity through new means and a new language, especially loyalty to our ultimate homeland, Lebanon.”

Today, Sunday, in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, the President of the Presidential Council, ‘Mohamed Al-Mnifi,’ discussed with the President of Brazil, ‘Luis Inacio Lula da Silva,’ the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries, and the return of the Brazilian embassy and companies to Libya.

The Council’s media office stated that the two sides discussed during the meeting strengthening African-Brazilian relations and joint coordination regarding international regional issues of interest to both countries in international forums.

According to the media office, the two sides agreed to receive a Brazilian ministerial delegation in Tripoli in the near future.
