Blockbuster Sunday sees City suffer first loss, Arsenal remain top of PL, Madrid defeat Barca

ABU DHABI, City suffered the maiden Premier League defeat of the season after Liverpool’s Mo Salah’s second half goal split the sides in an otherwise even fixture at Anfield.

Both sides had the chances to win a clash played at a frantic pace typical of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp since their arrival in England, but it was Liverpool who came out on top thanks to Salah’s brilliant finish.

In the meantime, Arsenal remained top of the PL after handing Leeds United their first home loss of the season with a hard-won 1-0 victory in a tough game at Elland Road on Sunday.

In El Clasico, Barcelona’s lacklustre performance persisted in yet another disappointing clash that saw Benzema opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the 12th minute. Fede Valverde drilled home their second before a clueless Ferran Torres scored late in the game as Barca staged a fightback but only to see Roodrygo converted a late penalty to seal the deal.
