A police force found the body of a traffic policeman northeast of Baqubah, the center of Diyala Governorate.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): ‘A police force found the body of a traffic policeman dumped on the bank of the Diyala River on the outskirts of Mansouriya, northeast of Baqubah, bearing traces of gunshot wounds.’

He added: ‘The body was transferred to forensic medicine, while the security services opened an investigation into the incident.’

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed then visited the tomb of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and asked God to rest his soul in eternal peace.

Al-Bayda Governor reviews province’s security department readiness


The Governor of Al-Bayda, Abdullah Idris, was briefed today,Wednesday, on the level of readiness of members of the province’s security administration, the Central Security Forces, the emergency services, and a number of security points in Al-Bayda.

During the visit, a number of security leaders reviewed the level of implementation of the security plan and the tasks carried out by security personnel in achieving security and social peace and protecting all gains.

The Governor of Al-Bayda praised the security role played by the security personnel, the Central Security Forces, and the efforts made to protect the security and stability of the nation.

Idris pointed out that the security services and the armed forces are the national force that tore up those sick bets through the heroic epics written by heroes in positions of defense of land and honor.

For their part, the officers and personnel of Public Security, Central Security, and the Rescue Forces affirmed their full readiness to carry out security tasks
in various circumstances… renewing their authorization to the revolution leader, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to take what he deems appropriate within the framework of Yemen’s participation in the battle of ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ and the expansion of the battle to the Indian Ocean, and to prevent Israeli ships crossing the Red and Arab seas, the Gulf of Aden and Bab al-Mandab, or heading to the ports of occupied Palestine until the aggression stops and the siege on Gaza Strip is lifted.

Over 7,700 people evacuated from flooded areas in Russia’s Orenburg Region

MOSCOW: The number of flooded houses in Russia’s Orenburg Region has increased to 12,800, and more than 7,700 people have been evacuated, the regional government said.

“As many as 7,703 people, including 1,707 children, have been evacuated from [flooded] houses and private land plots,” the government said in a statement carried by TASS.

In Orsk, hit hardest by the floods, 6,793 houses have been affected, with 2,616 people being evacuated.

The partial collapse of a dam in Orsk, second largest city of Russia’s Orenburg Region, occurred in two places on the night of April 6. Another breach took place on the evening of the same day. The regional authorities have declared a federal emergency. The worst flooding is expected in Orenburg later on Wednesday.

Levels of the Ural River in Orenburg have risen by 81 cm over the past day to exceed the danger level, the southwest Russian city’s municipal authorities said.

Earlier, First Vice-Mayor Alexey Kudinov said the level stood at 965 cm.

“Over the past 24 hours,
the water level in the Ural River has increased by 81 cm. As of 8:00 a.m. local time (4:00 a.m. GMT – TASS), the water level in the Ural River has reached 978 cm,” the authorities said in a statement, citing a local weather center.

Floodwaters rose past the danger level of 930 cm last evening and the level is still growing, officials said. According to forecasts, it may increase by another 30 cm to 70 cm on Wednesday.

3.7 Quake Shakes Algeria’s Tebessa

The Centre for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Geophysics (CRAAG) reported that a seismic tremor measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale occurred in the Tebessa province east of Algeria on Wednesday without recording casualties or material damage.

The earthquakes epicenter was pinpointed at a depth of 29 kilometers northwest of the Boukhadra municipality, according to the CRAAG statement.
