Takala discusses with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy the strengthening of bilateral relations, increasing trade exchange and opening investment horizons.


The President of the High Council of State, ‘Muhammad Takala,’ discussed today, Thursday, with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Libya, ‘Didi Ahmed Rifai,’ strengthening Libyan bilateral relations between the two countries, increasing trade exchange, and opening investment horizons between them.

The media office of the High Council of State stated that the meeting dealt with expanding and developing cooperation opportunities with regard to scientific research, training, postgraduate studies, the health sector, and the field of nursing.

During the meeting, Takala praised the depth of relations between the two countries and the extent of existing cooperation between Libya and Indonesia, stressing the Council’s support for expanding and developing the horizons of scientific and economic cooperation for the benefit of both countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, shields were exchanged between the President of the High Council of State and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy,
who was accompanied by First Secretary Robert Edwin Watimina and a number of members of the embassy’s administrative staff.

Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed meets CEO of Apollo Global Management


ABU DHABI: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, today met Marc Rowan, Co-Founder and CEO of alternative asset management company Apollo Global Management.

During the meeting, they discussed current investment partnerships and ways to enhance joint cooperation and exchange expertise, capitalising on Abu Dhabi’s opportunities as an investment hub.

His Highness reaffirmed that Abu Dhabi continues to consolidate its position as a leading destination for global investment, supported by a comprehensive economic vision and initiatives and projects that are attracting significant foreign direct investment into the UAE.

Also attending the meeting were Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, Deputy Group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company; Meera Al Suwaidi, and Ayad Alhadi.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya reviews with an American delegation the cooperation relations between the bank and America.


Today, Thursday, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, ‘Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir,’ reviewed with the American Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, the relations of cooperation between the Central Bank of Libya and the United States of America, in the presence of the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, ‘Joshua Harris.’ and the Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Berndt.

The US Embassy stated that the Special Envoy, Ambassador Norland, reviewed with Al-Kabir the progress made to finance reconstruction in Derna and other areas affected by the floods, with technical support from international institutions. We welcomed the release of the rapid assessment report on damages and needs in Libya, which was carried out by the World Bank, the United Nations, and the European Union.

Norland said that the American delegation stressed during the meeting the importance of the integrity and independence of the Central Bank of Libya and other Libyan sovereign institutions, and the need for
a unified, fair and transparent system for allocating public revenues for the benefit of the Libyan people across the country, such as the Supreme Financial Committee, that was formed last year.

The meeting also discussed the existing cooperation between the Central Bank of Libya and the United States through the Libya Public Financial Management Program carried out by the United States Agency for International Development, according to the American Embassy.

LIC discusses meets with British Deputy Ambassador.


The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Investment Corporation, Ali Mahmoud Hassan, discussed with the Deputy British Ambassador to Libya, Catherine Wilde, issues related to the freezing system imposed on the institution.

This came during a meeting held on Tuesday at the Corporation’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli.

The Corporation reported on its Facebook account, that the British Deputy Ambassador, was briefed during the meeting on the steps taken by the Authority in order to avoid negative effects on the assets and funds frozen within the framework of the regime imposed sanctions.
