UAE announces 1,609 new COVID-19 cases, 1,584 recoveries, 1 death in last 24 hours

ABU DHABI, The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that it conducted 230,353 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

In a statement, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment. As part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP announced 1,609 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 961,345.

According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.

MoHAP also announced 1 death due to COVID-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 2,323.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 1,584 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 941,637.

UAE leaders congratulate President of South Sudan on Independence Day

ABU DHABI, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a cable of congratulations to Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, on his country’s Independence Day.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, also dispatched a similar congratulatory cable to President Mayardit on the occasion.

UAE President pledges $25 million to support Al Makassed Hospital in East Jerusalem

ABU DHABI, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has pledged US$25 million to Al Makassed Hospital in East Jerusalem, to expands its medical supplies services.

The current pledge comes as part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support Palestinian healthcare institutions, and to meet the needs of the Palestinian people.

The 250-bed Makassed Hospital, which was established in 1968, plays a key role in providing healthcare to the Palestinian community. It offers a full range of services, including cardiology, orthopedics, pediatric medicine, and neurology, in addition to providing comprehensive healthcare services. It is also serves as teaching hospital and a research facility.

UAE leaders receive Eid Al Adha greetings from Arab, Islamic counterparts

ABU DHABI, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received messages of congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al Adha from Kings, Presidents, and Emirs of Arab and Islamic countries.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, also received similar congratulatory messages from Arab and Islamic leaders on the occasion.
