Katara Exhibition for Antiques to Launch on Thursday


Doha: Katara Publishing House announced that the 2024 Katara Exhibition for Antiques will launch on April 25 and will last until April 30.

The exhibition will be held in Katara Hall Building 12 with the participation of local and international companies from 10 countries.

In its first edition, the 2024 Katara Exhibition for Antiques includes an open auction for antiques and old collectibles of historical value in cooperation with AlBahie Auction House.

Valuable and rare collectibles from the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al-Thani Museum (FBQ) will be displayed, in addition to other antique collectibles from individuals and institutions and a special showcase of classic cars.

Director of Katara Publishing House Amira Ahmed Al Muhannadi explained that the public is interested in acquiring antiques for their aesthetic value, while enthusiasts pay attention to which period the piece dates back to as well as its rarity since these aspects determine the value of the piece and its cost in auctions.

The participation
of AlBahie Auction House includes displaying various and unique collections of rare art pieces, Al Muhannadi explained.

She added that antique exhibitions around the world are having great public demand which shows that the acquisition of antiques has become a common interest that is shared by all people around the world.

198 days of war on Palestine

Gaza – Together – Israeli aircraft continued their bombing of various areas of the Gaza Strip on the 198th day of the war, leaving dozens of martyrs and wounded.

The Israeli occupation committed four massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, claiming 37 martyrs and 68 injuries during the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of the Israeli aggression to 34,049 martyrs and 76,901 injuries since the 7th of last October.

Israeli occupation aircraft continued their raids on the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, leaving 18 martyrs and a large number of wounded within 24 hours.

A citizen from the Jouda family was also martyred along with his pregnant wife and daughter, while doctors were able to perform a cesarean section on the mother before she was martyred, as the fetus survived death.

The occupation aircraft targeted a house near the Egyptian-Palestinian border, without causing any casualties.

In Khan Yunis, two citizens were martyred and a number of others were injured in a raid that targeted the ten
ts of displaced people in Mawasi Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

The occupation aircraft had previously bombed the tents, causing many casualties.

Civil defense crews in Khan Yunis Governorate recovered the bodies of 50 martyrs of different categories and ages, who had been collected by the occupation forces and buried collectively inside the Nasser Medical Complex.

The Civil Defense indicated that search operations will continue and the rest of the martyrs will be recovered during the coming days, as there are still a large number of them.

Palestinian doctor Moin Saed was martyred and his son was seriously injured in the bombing of his clinic in the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Two citizens were also martyred in a bombing that targeted the vicinity of Abu Helu School in the center of the camp. They were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, which received two martyrs who died near Wadi Gaza.

The occupation artillery bombed the Al-Mughraqa area in the central Gaza Strip.

A cit
izen and his wife were martyred in the bombing of a citizens’ gathering in the town of Jabalia and were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital.

The occupation army also destroyed a house in the Shati camp, west of Gaza, without causing any casualties.

Artillery shelled various areas north and east of Gaza City.

Coast Guard chief tackles combating drug smuggling, piracy with Iranian Border Guards chief

Director General of Kuwait’s Directorate General of the Coast Guard Commondore Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Sabah discussed Sunday with the visiting Iranian Border Guards Commander Major General Ahmad Goudarzi boosting commercial, fishing vessels search and rescue efforts and combating drug smuggling and maritime piracy.

In a press statement, the Interior Ministry said that the meeting was held at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Coast Guard Base in Kuwait.

Commondore Sheikh Mubarak and Maj. Gen. Ahmad also mulled beefing up security of maritime borders.

Both sides underlined the importance of cementing security cooperation, mainly related to securing maritime borders, streamlining commercial maritime routes and maintaining security and stability of maritime navigation.

RESISTANCE FIGHTERS TARGET A BUILDING USED BY ENEMY’S SOLDIERS IN SHOMERA

The Islamic Resistance issued the following statement: “In response to the “Israeli” enemy’s attacks on the resilient southern villages and civilian homes, the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted a building used by the enemy’s soldiers in the settlement of Shomera (the occupied Lebanese town of Tarbikha) at 7:30 am on Sunday, April 21, 2024, using appropriate weapons.”
