Taekwondo Team Kicks Off Qatar’s Participation in Gulf Youth Games


Abu Dhabi, Qatar’s Taekwondo team will kick off Tuesday Qatar’s participation in the inaugural edition of Gulf Youth Games, which is hosted by the United Arab Emirates from April 16 to May 2.

The Qatari Taekwondo team, consisting of Abdulrahman Al Ali, Ajlan Al Kuwari, Saad Al Sulaiti, and Noor Mohammed, will compete at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah.

Taekwondo competitions will begin Tuesday with the participation of 152 athletes.

The Qatari delegation is participating in the Gulf Youth Games with a delegation of 145 athletes.

Qatar will participate in 22 sports: handball, basketball 3×3, volleyball, athletics, boxing, jiu-jitsu, archery, judo, swimming, karate, taekwondo, esports, golf, badminton, cycling, sailing, table tennis, fencing, triathlon, equestrian (show jumping), chess, and athletics for people with disabilities.

Qatari teams are looking forward to making a good appearance in the tournament and competing for medals in various sports. Participation also comes as part of preparing the t
eams for the Doha 2030 Asian Games.

The inaugural edition of the Gulf Youth Games will see the participation of 3,500 athletes from all GCC countries competing in 25 individual and team sports under the slogan “Our Gulf is One… Our Youth is Promising.”
