The President of the Republic meets a number of members of the Iraqi community in Jordan


The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met with a number of members of the Iraqi community in Jordan.

A presidential statement said, “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received at his residence in the Jordanian capital, Amman, a number of members of the Iraqi community in Jordan.”

The President indicated during the meeting that ‘his current visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan came to develop relations between the two brotherly countries, as well as to enhance cooperation between the three countries, Iraq, Jordan and Egypt, especially in the fields of renewable energy,’ indicating that ‘this requires intensive work in the meeting of ministers and specialized technicians, which is hoped to be held soon.’

He stressed, “Iraq is keen to continue cooperation and coordination with its brothers on issues of common interest and to reach understandings that enhance peace and stability in the region.”

Regarding the Palestinian issue, the President of the Republic affirme
d, ‘Iraq’s government and people support the Palestinian people,’ stressing ‘the necessity of stopping the aggression against the Gaza Strip, which has had repercussions on the entire region.’

He pointed out “the importance of uniting international efforts to reach a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue that fulfills the demands of the Palestinian people to achieve their full rights to establish their free and independent state on their national soil.”

According to the statement, the President of the Republic touched on ‘the security, political and economic stability that Iraq is currently witnessing and its positive impact on the country’s bilateral relations with the rest of the world,’ stressing, ‘the government’s insistence on implementing its service program and continuing the reconstruction process in all the country’s governorates,’ calling on them, ‘to participate through their experience and capabilities in investment projects and contribute to the construction and development of Iraq.’

he statement indicated that “the President of the Republic discussed the situation of the Iraqi community during the discussions with King Abdullah II,” stressing that “caring for the interests of Iraqis residing abroad and providing them with the best services is one of the most important duties and even one of the main priorities of the Presidency of the Republic and the Iraqi government.”

For their part, ‘the members of the community expressed their thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for this meeting,’ stressing that ‘this communication with the members of the community and interest in them facilitates and removes the obstacles and difficulties they face in their stay outside the country
