Fair weather forecast almost nationwide Saturday-JMD


Amman: Saturday will see a drop in temperatures, and the weather will be pleasant almost countrywide and warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

According to the JMD report, the weather Sunday will be pleasant almost nationwide and warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. There is a weak chance in the afternoon hours for a short period of light and scattered showers of rain in limited parts of the Kingdom’s northern and central regions.

On Monday, the Kingdom is gradually affected by a state of air instability during the late hours of night and scattered showers are forecast to fall in parts of the northern and central regions.

As for Tuesday, the Kingdom remains under influence of atmospheric instability and scattered rain will fall in various areas across the Kingdom, accompanied by thunder and hailstones in some areas.

Also today, temperatures in the capital Amman will reach hit a high of 22 degrees Celsius, dropping
to 9C degrees at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a blazing 33C, sliding to 17C during night hours.

4 people wanted on drug charges arrested in Karbala Governorate

Baghdad, The Rapid Response Squad arrested 4 people wanted on drug charges in Karbala Governorate.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement: ‘The First Regiment, Fifth Brigade, affiliated with the Rapid Response Squad Command in the Ministry of Interior, arrested 4 people wanted by the Iraqi judiciary in accordance with the provisions of Article 32 of drugs with unlicensed weapons in their possession in Karbala Governorate.’

It added: ‘The arrest operation was carried out in cooperation with the Directorate of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in the governorate, in coordination with the Rapid Response Intelligence Department, whereby the wanted persons and the seized items were duly handed over to the requested party.’

The Minister of Interior discusses with the Iranian Ambassador joint cooperation in combating drugs and preventing smuggling operations

Baghdad, Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari discussed with Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Mohammad Kazim al-Sadik joint cooperation in drug control and prevention of smuggling operations.

The ministry stated in a statement: ‘The minister met today in his office with the Iranian ambassador, and during the meeting, future procedures for the Arbaeen visit, facilitating the entry of visitors, and other topics related to this occasion were discussed.’

It added: ‘During the meeting, the two sides also discussed coordination and joint cooperation between the two neighboring countries in combating drugs and preventing smuggling operations, as well as discussing the development of border crossings and strengthening measures to ensure the security of the Iraqi-Iranian border.’

Four defendants, including an employee in Diyala, arrested on charges of financial and administrative corruption

Baquba, A Rapid Response force in the Ministry of Interior arrested four defendants, including a female employee, on charges of financial and administrative corruption.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): ‘A Rapid Response force, in coordination with the Integrity Commission / Diyala Investigation Office, arrested four defendants, including an employee in the Accounts Department in Diyala Governorate, on charges of financial and administrative corruption.’

He added: ‘The defendants were found in their possession of checks containing large sums of money, metal clips, boxes containing local and foreign sums of money, salary documents, expense records, and a quantity of gold jewelry.’

He pointed out: ‘The accused were handed over to the competent security authorities along with the seized items in accordance with the law.’

Integrity Commission: The Director of the Development Bank, Maysan branch, was ousted for embezzling more than (6.7) billion dinars.

Baghdad, The Federal Integrity Commission announced the implementation of the arrest warrant issued against the Director of the International Development Bank – Maysan Branch; Against the backdrop of charges of embezzling billions of dinars from the bank.

Speaking about the operation, the Commission’s Government Information and Communications Office stated: ‘Cooperation and coordination between the Authority and the Intelligence Agency resulted in the arrest of the Director of the International Development Bank – Maysan Branch in the capital, Baghdad, and the implementation of the arrest warrant issued against him, based on the provisions of Article (315) of Penal Code.

It pointed out that the details of the case are that the Director of the International Development Bank, Maysan branch, embezzled an amount of (6,771,010,000) Iraqi dinars from the bank in conjunction with the reliable female storyteller in it, in addition to his collusion with the bank’s assistant director and two employees working in the
capacity of ‘ Treasurer in the branch, who proceeded to withdraw an amount of (3,385,000,000) Iraqi dinars from the fortified storeroom in it and handed it over to unknown persons.

The Commission had announced yesterday, Thursday, that its staff in Maysan Governorate were able to implement the arrest warrant issued against the assistant director of the International Development Bank branch in the governorate and two employees there on charges of embezzling more than three and a quarter billion dinars.
