The Islamic Resistance announced the following: “With utmost pride and honor, the Islamic Resistance announces the martyrdom of the martyr fighter Hasan Jaafar Marji, known as “Baqer”. He was born in 1996 from Blida town in southern Lebanon. He ascended as a martyr on the path to [liberate] Al-Quds.”

Amanat Al-Asimah warns of tires burning dangers on public streetsKing prays for Palestinian Gazans as Muslims welcome Ramadan

The Capital Municipality warned of the dangers of burning tires in neighborhoods and public streets with the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan.

The executive director of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund at the municipality, Muhammad Sharaf al-Din, confirmed to the Saba that burning tires is a negative phenomenon, causing environmental pollution and harming the health of society.

He called on citizens to cooperate with the concerned authorities to prevent this phenomenon, and to spread community awareness of the dangers of burning tires, and the need to preserve the capital’s environment.

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah Sunday wrote a post on X praying for Palestinian Gazans as Muslims welcome the holy month of Ramadan.

His Majesty wrote on X, “Praise be to God who has brought us to the month of mercy and remission… God, ease the suffering of our brothers in Gaza and lift the injustice they are subjected to.”

Israeli forces kill 7 in southern Lebanon

Beirut: Israeli airstrikes Sunday on southern Lebanon killed at least seven people, according to a security official.

A Lebanese security official said the Israeli strikes killed three in a raid that targeted a car on the outskirts of the town of Al-Habbara and four others in raids in the centre of the town.

He added, “Other raids also targeted forests, common areas and the centre of border towns, resulting in serious material damage.”

Grand Mufti announces Tuesday Ramadan’s first day

Amman: Jordan’s Grand Mufti, Ahmed Hasanat, Sunday announced that Tuesday would be the first day of Ramadan.

Hasanat confirmed that the Ramadan crescent was not seen tonight during an event to monitor the crescent of Ramadan held by the Iftaa’ Department at the King Hussein bin Talal Mosque.

NCHR: Jordanian women held key judicial positions

Amman: National Center for Human Rights (NCHR) praised the Kingdom’s measures to empower Jordanian women in the judicial field to assume leadership positions in this sector.

In a statement Sunday on the occasion of International Day of Women Judges (IDWJ), the NCHR said Jordanian women have held multiple positions in the Kingdom’s judicial system at different levels.

The center also valued the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve this goal, based on Jordan’s Constitution and its amendments, which affirmed principle of equality among all Jordanians and backed women empowerment to play an “active” role in building society.

The NCHR added that this policy aimed to guarantee equal opportunities on the basis of justice and fairness and protect women from all forms of violence and discrimination.

In this regard, he pointed to Jordan’s ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, which guaranteed women equal rights in various fields and issuance of new Justice Sector St
rategy for the years (2022-2025) that contributes to build capabilities of Jordanian female judges.
