United Nations Mission in support of Sweden Agreement visits ports of Hodeida


The United Nations Mission in Support of the Sweden Agreement in Hodeida carried out a field visit to the ports of Hodeida as part of the team’s continuous patrols in support of the Sweden agreement.

The six-person team, headed by Nassereddine Ahmed, visited the ports of Hodeida, Ras Issa and As Saleef, and was briefed on the movement in the ports and their full compliance with the terms of the UN-sponsored Sweden agreement.

The team was accompanied on its visit to the three ports by the liaison officer, Colonel Fadel Al-Matari, and the visit is part of the continuous patrols of the UN team to the ports of Hodeida.

King attends JAF ceremony marking Al Karamah Battle’s 56th anniversary

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Thursday attended the JAF’s ceremony marking Al Karamah Battle’s 56th anniversary.

Upon arrival at the memorial site for the martyrs of Al Karamah Battle, His Majesty, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hneiti and senior officers.

The King inspected the Honour Guards as Royal Jordanian Air Force F-16 fighter jets conducted a flypast.

His Majesy also laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument and recited verses from the Holy Quran.

His Highness Prince Mired bin Ra’ad, chief royal councillor at the Royal Hashemite Court, and senior officials and officers attended the ceremony

JEDCO allocated JD12mln to modernize Jordan’s industry-Kayed

Amman: Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) Chairman, Abdel Fattah Kayed, said the corporation has allocated JD12 million to modernize the Kingdom’s industry.

Kayed reviewed JEDCO’s work mechanism and foundations for providing grants to beneficiaries, saying its strategy will be implemented over 3 years, as well as an action plan in the governorates within main axes,primarily economic recovery, green economy, and conformity of projects to international standards.

Kayed made the remarks during a meeting with Lower House Economy and Investment Committee, headed by MP Omar Naber, to review JEDCO’s work mechanism and its strategic plans for developing “entrepreneurial” projects, factories and ideas.

Additionally, he added that JEDCO designs and implements a variety of development programs targeting Jordan’s various sectors in the fields of manufacturing, services and agricultural industry, adding that 70% of the grants are provided to the Kingdom’s governorates.

Kayed explained that JEDCO has exp
anded its currently implemented programs for existing factories under specific conditions.

Meanwhile, Naber stressed importance of providing facilitations to owners of small and midsize enterprises (SMEs), especially in light of the difficult economic conditions.

Naber also called for supporting SMEs to provide opportunities for Jordanian alumni and jobless youth to reduce unemployment

Jordan Conducts 7 Airdrops for Gaza with International Collaboration

Amman: The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) conducted seven airdrops on Thursday, delivering essential humanitarian and food aid to various locations in the northern Gaza Strip.

These airdrops were executed utilizing two C130 aircraft from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, along with an aircraft from Egypt, Germany, Singapore, and two from the United States.

The international collaboration in this operation underscores Jordan’s concerted efforts to garner support from diverse international partners in addressing the urgent humanitarian needs arising from the ongoing Israeli war, particularly in Ramadan.

The Army reiterated its commitment to providing vital humanitarian and medical assistance through an established air bridge, facilitating the transportation of aid from Amman Civil Airport to El-Arish International Airport. Additionally, aid continues to be delivered through a combination of airdrops over Gaza and ground convoys.

Since the onset of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the JAF has conducted 53
airdrops, with an additional 78 joint airdrops conducted in collaboration with other nations.

Israel arrested 28 Palestinians in West Bank-PPC

Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces arrested 28 Palestinians in the West Bank and the occupied city of Jerusalem, including two children and former prisoners, Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (PPC) said.

In a statement Thursday, the PPC noted Israeli forces, amid heavy gunfire, stormed various areas in the cities of Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Ramallah, El-Bireh, and several neighborhoods in occupied East Jerusalem, claiming raids aimed to arrest “wanted” Palestinians.
