Fire brigades control a fire at a Kuwaiti oil refinery

The Kuwait National Petroleum Company announced that its firefighting teams controlled the fire that broke out on Friday evening, 8:37 pm, in Unit No. 35 in the sixth district of the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery.

The Executive Vice Chairman of Fuel Supply Operations and the official spokesman for the company, Ghanem Al-Otaibi, confirmed, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai, that the fire did not result in any human casualties, and that production and export operations at the refinery were not affected by the fire and continued according to their usual program.

The Kuwait National Oil Company announced earlier Friday evening that a fire had broken out in one of the units in the refinery, confirming that firefighting teams dealt with the fire immediately after it broke out.
